Senior General Manager Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Chung Senior General Manager Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Chung Stop worrying, living and working happy. “why so serious, don’t worry, be happy”, this idiom we often hear nowadays, but how to make it, not so easy. Nearly 19 years working for OVC, not too long, not short to see that OVC has been changed so much from the beginning. Take a look to the turnovers & staffs number of OVC this year, we can see these figure much higher than last year. It means that our company is growing up. This makes us happy and believe that our company is on the right way. But beside glad thing like that we could see so many Vietnamese staffs quitted OVC year by year. What make them “run” like this is my deeply concern, so I try to find the answer by myself. I talked with many OVC-former staffs ( I’m still keeping good relation with them by friendship) and received the same answers from them Generally, the main reason why they decided to stop working for OVC because they didn’t find the stableness, real happy life if had continued doing hard work, getting high pressure everyday, but no conversation, no sentiment between boss and staff, no moral encouragement like reward, company trip...etc. They even doubted that who could know their contribution for company? their role was like the temporary. For Vietnamese culture, people not only work but also enjoy working, but this matter they could not see in OVC. Their explanation may be correct in the past; however, since Mr. Yamanaka became OVC president, all has been changed. ”improve communication”, ”improve team work”, ”smile more”, “think positive”…many many actions and systems has been done. So I strongly believe that we will feel happy and meaningful working for OVC. We should try for OVC day by day stronger, it will make us get more income, more enjoy, more experience , more mature then happier. So stop worrying and live happy. Thank You & best regards.
Senior General Manager Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cuong Senior General Manager Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cuong When I was about to graduate from university in 1995 - I learned that Obayashi Corporation was present in Haiphong city to build the entire infrastructure of Nomura Haiphong Industrial Zone. It was the time Vietnam started doing the open door policy and welcomed foreign investors into Haiphong city. Haiphong engineers were less likely to work in foreign construction company because of foreign languages restrictions. Until 2003, I started working for Obayashi Vietnam. It’s been eighteen years from that time that is not too long, but it is a continuous process of learning, experiencing and gaining precious lessons. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in Obayashi's projects in different provinces, especially big projects in Haiphong city where I was born and raised. And with the forthcoming project, Obayashi Vietnam has been assigned as the main contractor for AEONMALL Hai Phong Le Chan Shopping Center project which is a great importance for the socio-economic development of the port city in the transition period in general and also emphasizes the significance of the presence of Obayashi Vietnam with both the factory projects and the large-scale civil works in Haiphong city in particular. Despite the construction location specificity is in the residential area and technical requirements and such high technology, I believe that this project will be successful with Obayashi Vietnam’ employees and engineers efforts and bring revenue, profit and reputation for Obayashi in the construction market in Vietnam.
