Sharing About Osanbashi Pier From Mr. Kieu Viet Ha Training In Japan

Osanbashi Pier

It has been almost a trainee year at site in Isogo, only 20 minutes via Train from Yokohama Port and I have a good fortune to visit many famous urban attractions. In this article I would like to describe Osanbashi Pier. Osanbashi is the most historic pier in Yokohama, where international cruise ships dock in this city.

Originally, the Osanbashi was only a small Jetty that could not accommodate large vessels, so in 1889 the Japanese government decided to expand the length of the wharf with the design of the British engineer.

Over the historical periods, the Osanbashi jetty was restored and renovated and until 2002 the pier was completed with the current architecture designed by the Spanish-Iranian engineering team. With this design, the Osanbashi can accommodate up to four vessels weighing 30,000 tons or two vessels weighing 70,000 tons at one time.

This is one of the unique architectural works in Japan with all wooden decking combined with green lawns. From here, visitors can enjoy wide sea views, immense sky with daylight or shimmering lights at night. The Osanbashi pier is also one of the most beautiful sunset spots in Japan, captivating photographers by the sunlit paths of the sea. From here, you can also see other city landmarks such as red brick houses, Yamashita Park with golden leaves in Autumn. If everyone has a chance to visit Yokohama, please do not forget to visit this great destination.
